Terms of Use

1. Who we are

quickqr.page is run by Vietnam Open Source Technology Company Limited (Công ty TNHH Công nghệ Mã Nguồn Mở Việt Nam), a limited liability company registered in Vietnam with enterprise code 0318424321 ("we", "us"). You can reach us at hello@quickqr.page. Full details are on our contact page.

By using quickqr.page (the website, the API, or any of our apps) you agree to these terms, our Acceptable Use Policy, and you've read our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.

If you use quickqr.page for a company or organization, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for it.

3. What's free, and our promise

Everything on quickqr.page today is free: all code types, downloads, printing, editable codes and scan counts.

Our promise: we will never charge you to keep a free code working or editable, and free codes don't expire. The only reasons a code stops working are: you delete it, or we disable it because it breaks our rules (section 6).

We may offer paid extras later, such as detailed analytics or custom domains. They'll be optional. What's free today stays free.

We intend to run quickqr.page for the long term. If we ever have to shut it down, we'll announce it on the website at least 6 months in advance.

4. Static and editable codes

Static codes (Wi-Fi, contact, text, direct links and similar) are made in your browser. We never see what's in them, and they work without us forever.

Editable codes point to quickqr.page/go/…, and we send scanners on to your link. When you make one, you get a secret edit link:

• Anyone who has the edit link can change the code, see its scans, or delete it. Treat it like a password.
• We don't know who owns a code. If you lose the edit link, we can't give it back or edit the code for you.
• Changes reach people scanning within about a minute.
• We check every destination link for safety when you create or change it, and again later. We can refuse links that are unsafe or that our rules don't allow (see the Acceptable Use Policy).

5. Your content

What you put in your codes stays yours. To run the service, you allow us to store the destination links of your editable codes, check them for safety, send people who scan to them, and show them to whoever has the edit link. We use this permission only to run and protect quickqr.page.

You confirm you have the right to share what your codes point to, and that it follows our rules.

6. Our rules and how we enforce them

Our Acceptable Use Policy lists what's not allowed, such as phishing, malware, scams and illegal content. Here's how we enforce it:

• Automatic checks. When you create or change an editable code, and regularly after that, we check the link with Google Web Risk (a list of dangerous websites) and with our own rules: for example, no link shorteners, raw IP addresses, or look-alikes of well-known brands. Our system can refuse or disable a link without a person looking first.
• Reports. Anyone can report a code. A person reviews each report.
• What we can do. Refuse a link, disable a code (scanning it then shows a warning page instead), or block someone from using the service. If content may be a crime, especially child sexual abuse material, we may report it to the authorities.
• We tell you why. When a code is disabled, its edit page shows what we did, why, which rule it broke, and whether the decision was automatic.
• You can appeal. Email abuse@quickqr.page within 6 months of the decision and tell us why you think it's wrong. A person will review it and reply with our decision and reasons. You can also take the matter to court.

We aim to act on reports quickly and fairly, and to treat everyone the same way.

7. The API

You can use our API without a key. The same rules apply. Please stay within the rate limits and don't try to get around them. We can slow down or block traffic that harms the service. We try hard never to break version v1 of the API.

8. No guarantees

We work hard to keep quickqr.page running and safe, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". We can't promise it will always be available or error-free, or that every phone will scan every code. Scan a test print before you print many copies.

9. Limits on our responsibility

quickqr.page is free. As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect losses (like lost profits or reprinting costs) or for problems caused by things outside our control, and our total responsibility to you is limited to 1,000,000 VND (about 40 US dollars).

These limits don't apply where the law doesn't allow them: for example, if we cause harm on purpose or through gross negligence, or to rights you have as a consumer that can't be taken away by a contract.

10. Stopping

You can stop using quickqr.page at any time, and delete your editable codes with their edit links. We can stop you from using the service if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Each version has a date at the top. If a change matters, we'll put a notice on the website and on edit pages at least 30 days before it applies. Your codes keep working either way.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Vietnam. If we have a disagreement, please email us first: most things can be fixed that way. If not, the courts of Vietnam can decide. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the laws of the country where you live and can go to court there when those laws allow it.
